Dr. Katharina Maria Burkhardt is a hormone scientist (research & development), lecturer, supervisor, and author. She holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Public Health with a focus on bioidentical hormones and is also a licensed non-medical psychotherapist. With more than 20 years of experience in medical practice, she is particularly devoted to researching, applying, and advancing bioidentical hormone therapies.
During her academic career, Dr. Burkhardt first explored hormones and their impact on physical and mental well-being (Master’s thesis 2018/2019). She then expanded on these findings in her dissertation (2020/2021), which involved in-depth case studies on bioidentical hormones. Currently (2022–2025), she is overseeing a clinical study and a preliminary study on measurement methods (serum, saliva LCMS) for transdermal hormone administration.
Beyond her research, Dr. Burkhardt is deeply involved in designing and developing micronutrient preparations (including “Sunday” and “Vitalibra”), hormone-based skincare products, and essence complexes. She is the founder and director of the Network for Bioidentical Hormones (www.hormon-netzwerk.at) and regularly delivers lectures and seminars on bioidentical hormones in German-speaking countries (further details are available on her website).
Dr. Burkhardt also designed and leads a three-year specialist training program for physicians in integrative bioidentical hormone therapy. In this role, she shares her expertise both in research and as a lecturer and supervisor for professionals seeking comprehensive qualifications in hormone medicine.
