Dr. med. Josef Hummelsberger is a board-certified internist specializing in acupuncture and naturopathic treatments, as well as a Certified Physician of Chinese Medicine (CPC). He began his training in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 1983 with the Societas Medicinae Sinensis (SMS) and the German Medical Association for Acupuncture (DÄGfA), supplemented by multiple study visits in China. From 2002 to 2008, he served as President of the International Society for Chinese Medicine (SMS) and currently holds a position on its executive board.
Dr. Hummelsberger practiced at the Hempen & Kollegen medical center from 1995 to 2005 and has been running his own practice in Munich since 2005. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Chengdu TCM University and the Chengdu TCM Hospital. His publications cover a broad range of topics, including hay fever, phytotherapy, migraine, and lumbago. In addition, he has co-authored several works on Chinese Medicine, such as Chinese Medicine in Ophthalmology, Leitfaden Chinesische Rezeptur (Guide to Chinese Prescriptions), Tuina – Chinese Manual Medicine, Diabetes Treatment with Chinese Medicine, Treatment of Colitis and Crohn’s Disease with TCM, Paozhi, Treatment of Thyroid Diseases with TCM, and contributed a chapter to Dementia – Prevention and Therapy (KVC Verlag, 2019).
