Florian Beißner is Professor of Systemic Neuroscience and Scientific Director of the Insula Institute for Integrative Therapy Research in Hanover. He also works as a therapist for sinosomatics in his own practice and trains others in this therapy method. After studying physics at the Technical University of Munich, he completed postgraduate studies in Chinese medicine at the University of Porto. In 2010, he completed his doctorate at Goethe University Frankfurt with a thesis on functional imaging of the autonomic nervous system. After postdoctoral stays in Jena and at Harvard Medical School, he habilitated in 2014 in the field of systems neuroscience. Shortly afterwards, he was appointed to the Hannover Medical School, where he was an endowed professor until 2020. He is the author of over 50 publications and has received several awards for his work.
