Prof Dr Leopold Dorfer, Honorary President and founder of the OGKA, initiated the acupuncture lecture at the University of Graz in 1990, which he held for almost 30 years. His expertise is reflected in important publications, including 1998 on the RAC and 1999 on "Acupuncture on Ötzi" in renowned journals such as "The Lancet" and "Science". Prof Dr Dorfer founded the "International TAO Congress for TCM" in 2004 and produced several teaching CDs on acupuncture. He was also involved in the development of several textbooks on ear and body acupuncture. His achievements were honoured in 2001 with the TCM diploma from Nanjing University, followed by his appointment as "Professor" by the Austrian Federal President in 2011. In 2014, he co-founded Hypnoacupuncture, an innovative form of therapy that combines acupuncture and hypnosis. This led to the publication of the book "Hypnoacupuncture" in 2016 in collaboration with his colleagues Gasser and Kaindlstorfer.
