General practitioner with her own elective practice in Vienna, focusing on acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, functional myodiagnostics, orthomolecular medicine, and nutritional counseling.

She served as the course director and lecturer for TCM nutrition based on the five elements of WSTCM (2011–2016) and is a lecturer for the Acupuncture Society Ärzte für Akupunktur. Dr. Knauer has published in the Journal for Nutritional Medicine (JEM) and contributed to the German Journal for Acupuncture (DZA).
